BMW Motorrad SA will be displaying the full range of BMW's newest motorcycles at the AMID Motorcycle Expo, taking place from 8-11 August 2013 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec.
"The AMiD Motorcycle Expo gives us as a motorcycle brand the opportunity to showcase that we are more than just a motorcycle brand," explained BMW Motorrad SA's national marketing manager, Greg Coetzee. "We will be displaying two of our newest models at the show, the new R 1200 GS and the F 800 GS Adventure as well as selected motorcycle accessories and some of the newest rider gear available."
The new R 1200 GS is a major leap forward for a model which has consistently been the best-selling large capacity motorcycle in adventure-obsessed South Africa. More safety technology and a significant performance increase are designed to keep the R 1200 GS in its leading position in the adventure touring segment, though there is every chance that it will be challenged by its smaller cousin, the F 800 GS Adventure - the first time anything other than the 1200 has received the rugged "Adventure" treatment, designed to make it a truly go-anywhere motorcycle
