Epicurious – the desire to explore the rich and diverse world of fine wines, and the multitude of artisanal foods available to the epicure.
This encapsulates the philosophy shared by Philippe Chaumeton and Brett Chrystal, who through a careful selection have sourced a portfolio of fine wines from France, Argentina and Chile.
These chosen wines, champagnes as well as French ciders made from apple and pear grown in Normandy, offer excellent value, and embody the diversity and quality from various terroir – the natural environment in which a particular wine is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate.
Epicurious offers wines to suit every pocket and palate, from everyday drinking wines to exclusive wines and champagnes for special occasions.
Philippe and Brett bring not only their passion for fine wines and champagnes, but years of experience and expertise in commerce, wine production, and wine-tasting. Brett also has hands-on experience of winemaking, having produced three vintages of his-own garagiste wine.
The partners share an interest in the history of wine-making, its terroir and those wine producers who love and watch over their precious vines, in a centuries-old tradition that finally culminates in the bottle. This is what Philippe and Brett wish to bring to wine enthusiasts in South Africa – the possibility of sharing the riches and pleasures of tasting that passion.
Epicurious differentiates itself from competitors with their core focus on client interaction and a personal approach when it comes to assisting potential clients with their selection of wine, from the small focused selection of quality wines at every price-point.
Epicurious invites clients to visit their offices in Parkhurst, Johannesburg where tastings can be provided by arrangement, or to visit their web site, which features location maps, price lists and detailed tasting notes on each wine.
